retkeilymaja | In the middle of the Hanseatic city, on the city's best shopping street, Adelsgatan, is the small hostel Wisby Jernvägshotell. It offers accommodation in six rooms with access to a kitchen, shower and WC in the corridor. Here you live cheaply but are still close to everything Visby has to offer. Guests have the possibility of parking in the courtyard.
Hostel with the best location on Hansestaden's shopping street number one, Adelsgatan. Here you are close to everything that Visby has to offer in the form of restaurants, shops, cafés and attractions. Rumsförmedling has been conducted here since the end of the 1800s, hence the venerable name.
The hostel has two small double rooms, two family rooms for up to four people and two four-bed rooms. Shower and WC room are located in the corridor, guests also have access to a kitchen with room for 12 people. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, electric stove, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and kettle. From the kitchen there is access to a roof terrace with west facing, where guests can enjoy their meals in the sun when the weather permits. Please note, however, that barbecuing is not allowed on the roof terrace.
Meals are not included, but breakfast can, for an additional fee, be pre-booked. Breakfast is then served at Hotel Villa Borgen in the property next to Mon-Fri 07.00-10.00, Sat-Sun 08.00-11.00. The breakfast buffet consists primarily of organic and/or locally produced ingredients. Breakfast consists of local and/or organic products. On the buffet there is coffee, tea, juice, O'boy, freshly baked bread, hard bread, yogurt, sour cream, cereal, muesli, cold cuts (cheese/ham/sausage/tomato, cucumber and or peppers), Kalle's caviar, fruit. Variations depending on the season may occur. No hot dishes except waffles and boiled eggs are served.
Pets are not allowed. All areas of the hostel are non-smoking. The hostel is not handicap accessible, all rooms are located on the second floor. Final cleaning is included in the price. At the facility there is an 18-year age limit, ID checks are made on all residents/campers at check-in, people 18-24 years old can pay a deposit that is returned at check-out if no mishaps have occurred during the stay. The facility requires that all guests maintain good order and that a pleasant and calm environment is maintained.
When booking infants 0-2 years, the child must be specified when searching, however, the booking does not refer to their own bed but a bed in the parent's bed.
Parking is available subject to space in the courtyard (entrance between Phase 9 and Indiska), pre-booked for SEK 150 per day. Please note that the hostel is located on a pedestrian street, as a guest you are allowed to enter.
The hostel does not have its own reception, but check-in takes place at Hotel Villa Borgen in the property next door. The reception is happy to help with booking a table at one of Visby's many restaurants, give tips on attractions and activities, help with taxis, rental cars, rental bikes, etc. Journals and books are of course available to borrow.

On Gotland, we sort our waste for the sake of the environment. The main rule is that you sort the household waste into compost and combustible. Newspapers, packaging, plastic, glass and metal will also be divided. Your apartment has instructions on where to find the containers.
