Discover Herta Camping in southeast Gotland - near nature, family-friendly and genuine Gotland charm!
Welcome to Herta Camping, a small and personal member-run campsite on southeast Gotland - perfect for those looking for peace, nature and proximity to the sea.
The campsite is open from May 1 to September 30 and is beautifully located about 60 km east of Visby and 18 km north of Hemse.
There are four caravan/motorhome pitches and four tent pitches, making the campsite small-scale and cozy - a perfect choice for families with children, nature lovers and those who want to get away from the crowds.
Location and surroundings
Herta Camping is located just above the idyllic Herta fishing lodges and the shallow sandy beach, a popular bathing spot among both Gotlanders and visitors. Within walking distance you will find the Herta kiosk, which serves pizza, ice cream and sweets - also with beer and wine options.
In the immediate area there are restaurants, attractions and two golf courses, as well as nice roads for cycling and driving towards När, Burs and Hemse. Although a road passes through the campsite, it is not perceived as disturbing.
Accommodation & facilities
Caravan/motorhome sites:
Site A and B: approx. 8x9 meters, with sea view, located at the entrance near the road to the fishing village.
Sites C and D: approx. 6x11 meters, located inside the area near the playground and service house.
Price: 350 SEK/day. Electricity and WiFi included.
Tent plots:
Plots F, G, H and I: approx. 5x5 meters, flat grassy areas in a lush birch forest.
Price: 150 SEK/night. Electricity and WiFi included - electric cord available to borrow.
Vehicles with roof tents are referred to the caravan/motorhome sites.
Services and amenities
The campsite offers simple but well-maintained standards, perfect for those who appreciate the genuine and functional:
Service building with 2 showers (10 SEK/shower via Swish), 4 toilets
Shared kitchen with the possibility to cook, wash dishes, and access to a fridge and freezer
Barbecue area for cozy evenings
Washing machine and dryer (tokens are purchased on site)
Playground with sandpit, slide and trampoline - appreciated by our younger guests
The water at the campsite is approved for consumption (e.g. cooking, showering, brushing teeth), but may be discolored with a slight taste.
Check-in and contact
Herta Camping is a non-profit campsite, with no staffed reception - but our campsite hosts are on hand to help you if needed.
Check-in: from 15:00 on the day of arrival
Check-out: no later than 12:00 on the day of departure
Before arrival: You will receive a check-in SMS message 3 days before your booked stay
For late arrivals: Please let us know if you are arriving in the evening or at night
