Is there any tastier bread than the typical bread from Gotland? On the farm Tjeldervik Gård we have turned the cultural heritage of Gotland into our own everyday culture. Welcome to learn to bake this bread in a wonderful environment on our farm.
We begin the day with making fire in the big stove. After that you will be served klucku tei/otendag (that means coffee and bread in the dialect of Gotland) and at the same time get a short introduction to Gotlandslimpa (the bread) and the stove. Then the work begins with preparing the kneading the dough in the wooden tray and finally baking up the bread. While the bread is rising, we go for a walk along the nearby beach and while the bread is in the oven you will be served lunch/dinner in the cosy kitchen, a soup made of vegetables all grown on the farm. The teacher is Matilda Svahn who together with her husband and children are the fourth and fifth generation that lives on Tjeldervik Gård in Boge. Please, if possible, bring your own apron, inner shoes or warm socks, a kitchen towel and a wollen blanket (for bringing your bread in). In the price klucku tei/fika (coffee and bread), lunch and a bread you with you, is included.
