A fake insect.
The Fly Orchid (Ophrys insektifera) is a beautiful and fascinating orchid. The flowers use mimicry – they are very like a female Hymenoptera-insect. The flowers attract the male-insect which try to copulate with the flower. The insect then got some pollen on its body and help the orchids to reproduce. The flower also produce a ferromone, which attract the male insect with the smell. We will offer a fantastic tour to beautiful secret places in Swedens best orchid habitats. During a tour 2016 around 20 species were spotted. This orchid safari can also be arranged by request.
